Going Industrial

So I've been putting off building my new desk for a while. Mostly over cost. So I've decided that I'm going for a more reclaimed/industrial look.

I have some OSB boards around, and lots of reclaimed poplar and maple. So I think I'm going to go with a more industrial look, keeping the OSB visible under some epoxy, and painting the Poplar and Maple black to hide the mismatched wood. I'm hoping it comes out well. It's a gamble, but hopefully it will look nice.

I've seen OSB used as a decorative element before, so I think it can work. I'll just need to sand the crap out of it and put some epoxy on it. Or shelac. I could do the whole thing in shelac after I get the black on the other bits. Hmmm...
